Rules Summary

  • Carties must have at least four load bearing wheels, reliable steering and effective brakes.
  • Maximum unladen weight of cartie is 200lbs.
  • Drivers must be 16 or over. (It's a condition of our insurance - sorry about that).
  • Each team gets three timed runs on the course.
  • Push starts permitted.
  • Prizes for fastest run, best aggregate, best engineered, best decorated and "champagne moment".
  • "Local" and "National" classes.

It's not anticipated that we'll need to make any further changes to the rules between now and the event itself, but it's not completely impossible so we reserve the right to do so if necessary. Any changes will be indicated in the Cartie Forum and will communicated directly to those teams who have entered the competition.

The first scrutineering will take place on Sunday 1st June 2008, and the final scrutineering and display will take place at Catterline Gala on Saturday 14th June 2008. The time trial, on Sunday 15th June 2008, will be run down the brae from South Row to the harbour. Teams travelling from far far away can make alternative arrangements for scrutineering if necessary.
