The reconfigured Slammer claims some new victims in a series of spectacular crashes. "Once a fortnight is plenty" wins the hotly contested competition for the Connons Shield, but a mechanical failure on the last run allows Tequila Slammer to take the Constructors Championship.

With the start line moved to behind South Row, the course takes on a different character. The rough track section and transition to tarmac makes Jimmy's a far more challenging corner. Elijah prevails again, with newcomer The Bervie Bomber taking the Constructors Trophy.

26 teams take part in the most successful event to date. The newly tarmaced finish area helps make the event run very smoothly. After three years of trying, Robert Lindsay finally wins the Connons Shield aboard The Auld Alliance.
