Kinneff Old Church Annual Service

The annual commemorative service of the Kinneff Old Church takes place on Sunday 9th September at 7 pm. The guest preacher is Rev Dr Ian McLean, Clerk to the Presbytery of Aberdeen and Minister at Summerhill. Catterine school will be providing the musical interlude.

This will be the first public use of the Church since the Trustees had it rewired and redecorated Ewing Welsh and Michael Ritchie, and it is hoped that the many people who have visited over the years will come back to see its revived beauty.

Kinneff Old Church is where the Scottish Crown Jewels, The Honours of Scotland, were hidden in 1652 beyond the clutches of the invading army of Oliver Cromwell. They remained there for nine years and were then transported to Edinburgh Castle where they have remained ever since and are now on public display.
