Veggie Viking Competition

Another new event for the Gala was the Veggie Viking competition. To mark the visit of the Marr Agus Fibh Re-enactment Society to the Gala, we asked everyone to make a viking, or something vaguely vikingy, out of vegetables.

The response was quite overwhelming, and the standard of the entries was very high. Vicki the Viking had great difficulty choosing a winner, but in the end decided to give the first prize to Katie Steele for her wonderful cucumber long boat.

Joint second were Emily Crossley and Isobel Groom, and Katrina Carr was awarded third prize.
