Catterline Gala - Volunteers and Donations Needed

Only one week to go to the 2010 Catterline Gala Beach Party, 12 June, 1:30 to 4:00 pm.

Come dressed for the beach, surf shorts recommended. There will be fancy dress prizes for children and a bad taste shirt prize for for adults.

Please see a member of the comittee to buy Ceilidh and Lucky Duck Tickets.

The committee members are also happy to receive donations of raffle prizes, cakes for the cake stall and bottles for the bottle stall. Please sign up on the rota in the Creel to volunteer to man a stall.

The committee is: Alison Campbell, Tracy Walker, Susie Kemp, Kerry Dodds, Gordon Ritchie, Robert Plummer, Duncan Talbert.

Catterline will be the venue for a brand new music festival if plans by a leading concert promoter are approved. Glasgow based JK Promotions have teamed up with the Catterline Gala Association to develop an exciting new idea for community based festivals.

Spring Fling Fundraising Success

The Catterline School Spring Fling was a great success - and raised an amazing £3,226.41 for school funds. A huge thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, donated prizes and items for the auction, bid for those 'things that money can't buy' and came along and danced the night away. Thanks also to all the local business who supported the event. The children (and teachers!) at the school will all benefit from those extras that can't be squeezed out of the school budget.

Canny Act's production of A Murder at Barras Hall had it all. A murder, intrigue, some terrible jokes and some fine acting and production.

The ensemble should be congratulated for turning the cosy surroundings of Kinneff Village Hall into the Drawing Room of a fine Country House, complete with Chesterfield and Grandfather clock.

Proposed Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan Available Online

The proposed Local Development Plan for Aberdeenshire is now online and will be discussed at the Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee and Infrastructure Services Committee meetings on March 9th and 10th. See the Community Council web site for more information.
