Bag2School Collection to raise funds for school

Due to the success of the last 'Bag2School' collection it has been decided to organise some more collections in order to raise funds for the school.

Bag2school specialises in quality second hand clothing, which they sell on to wholesalers in Russia, Latvia & Lithuania. The clothes are then sold for individual use.

Catterline Primary School P 5-7 were invited to take part in an Aberdeenshire Inter-School Cross Country Event at Banchory today, 13th November 2007. Weather was cold but dry and very muddy!

The participating children did very well and although no medal places were achieved, they were a credit to the school both on and off the track. They gave 100% effort and their camaraderie and support for their team mates was outstanding.

Ceilidh raises £3000!

The school ceilidh held last Friday at Mackie Academy raised a fantastic £3000 (to the penny, thanks to a last minute donation).

Head Teacher Jan Bradford is absolutely delighted and thanks the organising committee and everyone else who worked hard to make the evening such a great success.

Catterline School Parents Group are holding a fund raising ceilidh at Mackie Academy Hall on Friday 5th October.

Raffle with £150 cash prize and other "unusual" prizes.
Silent auction of things that money simply cannot buy!
Dancing to The Gordonaires, featuring our very own high class joiner Ian Rennie.
Stovies included.
Licensed bar.

Green Butterfly Award for Catterline Community Garden

Catterline Community Garden was presented with a Green Butterfly Award by Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum at their AGM held in Kemnay last week. The Forum presented the awards to groups and individuals who had taken steps to care for the environment in a sustainable way. The garden in Catterline was recognised for encouraging wildlife and providing learning opportunities for local children. The project is organised by local volunteers and aims to create an environment which will encourage wildlife and also be enjoyed be all members of the community. Volunteers also run a Gardening Club where local primary school children can learn about the environment, wildlife and enjoy growing herbs, flowers and vegetables. The club is resting over the summer â€“ although there is still lots of winter jobs to do. Anyone interested in helping, on a regular or occasional basis please call Catherine on 273
